Aes Dana is the name of the French ambient music formation of Vincent Villuis and Sunbeam (aka Mahiane)
Born from the meeting of Vincent Villuis, former member of Goa chill band Asura, and Sunbeam (aka Mahiane) who spins English progressive vinyls, Aes Dana stands as a coherent fusion of both styles.
They bring out deep sounds rooted in the psychedelic tradition, in a fluid down tempo morning trance. Both musicians tend to create evocative sound textures, opening as a traveling over their analogical dreams. Short tales made of samples and waves, energized by tribal beats. Soundtrack for the early party letting time for the moon and the tempo to set, or for afters to slow down the nocturnal excesses and celebrate the return of the Sun. Aes Dana's music is to be enjoyed between the veils.

Aes Dana a.k.a. Vincent Villuis, composer and sound designer, DJ and co-owner of Ultimae records. Electronic activist since teenagehood, he was also one of the founding members of Asura. Bass player and singer in several coldwave and industrial bands, he then moved on to composing with machines.
Specialised in sampling and layering of accoustic sounds digitally transmuted, Vincent Villuis creates a music which offers multiple listening possibilities. Aes Dana brings a fusion between the British Progressive feel and the traditional American Space Music; with sounds anchored in the psychedelic realm freely flowing into a morning downtempo trance, tribal or smashed rhythms.
So far he has produced 4 solo albums, participated in well over 2 dozen compilations and collaborated on two albums with Swedish artist Magnus Birgersson under moniker H.U.V.A. Network. We expect his next album [ Perimeters ] to be released in 2010.
In 2009, Vincent Villuis composed soundtracks for Science Fiction movie "The Passport" (Amund Lie) and "Atrophy Bank" (Sam Asaert) which should come out late 2009. In June 2009 was released his latest album [ Leylines ] which received many excellent feed back from the electronic audience and beyond.The album was ranked top 10 sales electronic music on Itunes USA and Top 5 on emusic.
In 2009, Vincent Villuis becomes a sponsored artist by TC Electronics.
As the creator of the Fahrenheit Project compilation, he is working on the last chapter of the series prior to re-releasing the whole collection as a deluxe edition.
Vincent Villuis is Official Resident for the Dominicains of Haute Alsace for 2009-2010 and currently works on compositions for a multi-diffusion installation.

Koans are a method of training the mind in order to achieve the state of Satori. Satori is a very difficult concept to describe in a few words. It is essentially the goal of all Zen mediation and can be compared to the term enlightenment or insight into the nature of reality. These two aspects, Koan exercises and Satori are the central aspects of Zen. A further aspect to Zen should also be considered. This is the practice of Zazen. Zazen is the practice of mediation that involves sitting cross-legged in deep contemplation.
Another term for Zazen is "Dhyana". This term means to perceive or to reflect upon. Zazen is used to reach the conclusion of a Koan. Therefore the Koan and Zazen methods are essential in Zen training.
Koan literarily translated means "A public document". It refers to a statement made by a Master to a student of Zen or a discussion or dialogue between Master and student. The purpose of a Koan is to open the mind and perception to the truth. Koans are questions or riddles designed as instruments by the Zen Master to aid the student in finding the truth behind the everyday images of reality.

Rhythmic pulsation of witchery and splashes of subconscious basis of all the tracks, frequency beats of dreams: the album style is in rich quality instrumental electronics, where each sound element is interweaved with hypnotic melodies of the album songs.
