New iMac 27' just opened for preorders but its delivery is already delayed for about 1 week
The 27-inch iMacs were initially said to ship in 2-3 weeks, but they have since been pushed back to 3-4 weeks for new orders and at the moment they are available for preorder only at Apple's official on-line store.
After much waiting, iTunes 11 arrived Thursday as an update for both Mac and Windows.
iTunes 11 features what Apple calls a "dramatically simplified user interface," with more visually striking views of the library.
It also adds a redesigned mini-player and a new "Next Up" interface, where users can see what songs are queued up after the currently playing song.
The iTunes Store is getting a reorganization, implementing design features similar to those seen in the App Store and iTunes Store on iOS 6. According to Apple CEO Tim Cook, iTunes should now also have much-improved integration with iCloud.
"We can do Wi-Fi syncing to iTunes," Cook said in September, "and now with iCloud, we can download content wirelessly and back up to the cloud... If you find a movie that you downloaded elsewhere, you can click it and it'll start playing it from where you left off."
Apple spokesperson Tom Neumayer said last month that Apple was putting in a little extra work to make sure iTunes 11 was all it promised it would be. "The new iTunes is taking longer than expected and we wanted to take a little extra time to get it right," he told AllThingsD. "We look forward to releasing this new version of iTunes with its dramatically simpler and cleaner interface, and seamless integration with iCloud before the end of November."
We hope the wait was worth it. iTunes 11 is available for OS X users via Software Update (in the Mac App Store app on Mountain Lion).
Following launch of iTunes 11, Apple has rolled out 5.1.1 software update for Apple TV 2 and Apple TV 3 that adds support for Up Next with iTunes 11 or iTunes Match and includes some performance and stability improvements.
Here is what’s new in 5.1.1:
iTunes Up Next
Adds support for Up Next with iTunes 11 or iTunes Match. See upcoming songs when playing music on your Apple TV. Add new songs and edit what’s queued with your Remote or with the Remote app.
Stability and performance
Includes performance and stability improvements with the iTunes Store, AirPlay, Netflix, iTunes Match, and wired Ethernet connections.
Unfortunately, it looks like an issue which caused serious problems to some users after updating their Apple TVs (2nd and 3rd generation) to the latest Apple TV 5.1 software remains unfixed.
Apple released new add for iPad mini, but this time we are talking not about video - it is printed in Times magazin. The add is just perfect - completely at traditional Apple's style minimal and capacious:
Apple opens Christmas season with a "one-day Apple shopping event"
This Friday, November 23rd, which in United States is called Black Ffriday, marks the start of the Christmas shopping season. Traditionally, retailers offer major sales on that day, so Apple announced a "one-day shopping event" as well. All Apple Stores around the World are ready to face their clients on Friday, November 23rd, from 00:01 am till 11:59pm.
