On October 26, more than seven weeks after making its debut in the United States, the iPhone 5 is expected to launch in India. The device is also expected to come with “wider availability” than previous models, which were hard to get hold of, and should come with a similar price to the iPhone 4S when that first launched in India.
BGR India reports that “multiple sources” have confirmed the October 26 launch for India, and that Apple will be distributing the handset directly for the first time — rather than relying on carrier partners.
India will not be able to support the iPhone 5’s 4G LTE connectivity, BGR India reports, but users will still take advantage of its larger 4-inch display, the faster A6 processor, and the new design.
